English speech

Today, I will show you my speech which made for the English class of presentation.

This class imposes homework of English speech in every time.

The theme is very stupid, and if I write about it, I will feel bored.

So, I dare to make strange speech.

1.Self introduction

First, I like to take pictures.
I have one camera, Canon GH5 made by Panasonic.
This is very good single lens reflex camera.
I often go up mountains or visit shrines and castles, and there I take many photographs.
The other day, I went to Himeji castle.
It was nice trip.

Secondly I like art appreciation.
I think art is like a washing machine.
If you see beautiful pictures, you will feel refreshed.
I might as well tell you my favorite painter.
My favorite painter is Paul Klee.
His art is very characteristic.
He said "Art does not reproduce the visible, it makes things visible.".
His pictures show our invisible ugly feelings for exemple, jealoudy, inferiority complex, and hatred.

Thirdly I like reading books.
My favorite writer is Shakespeare, Conan Doyle and Franz Kafka.
Now, I will introduce my favorite quotes.
In The adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Holmes says "You see, but you do not observe. The distinction is clear".
The same is true of our academic research.
In Macbeth, Shakespeare says "Fair is foul, foul is fair".
I think all things is one.
Perhaps, I may be monist.

Finally I must say the most important thing in the speech.
Everything that I have told before in the speech is lie.
I do not have any camera.
I did not go Himeji castle.
I have not read Shakespeare.
My true habit is lying.
I am a liar.
Do our self-esteem make us lie?
I do not know.
Thank you for listening.

2.Natsume Soseki

Nice to meet you.
I am glad to make a speech in front of you.
I will tell you about Three reasons why I think Sosuke NATSUME is one of the best novelists in Japanese literary history.

First, He had philosophy.
He was a individualist.
He said that "if you want to do anything, you should continue to do until you go to the end.
You can and should decide what you do in your life.

Not for your nation.

Not for your father or mother.

You should follow your hearts "
It is nice lesson.

Second, his novel is very interesting.
When you go to a book store, you will see many nobels.
I think that there are many fun novels, but there are very few books which is interesting.
All his novel is very interesting.
You can read them from various points of view.
For example, one of his most famous novels, Kokoro, has many themes.
About suicide,self-respect, jealousy and loneliness.
I think that he tried compromising realism and romanticism.
This is why even now his novels can affect emotionally.

Thirdly, he made efforts to make Japanese literature characteristic.
At that time, Japanese people thought that culuture in Western countries was better than our own one.
They learned European culture and imitated it.
Japanese national power rapidly grew, and Japan won the Japan-China war and the Russo-Japanese war.
Japanese people thought that japan became one of the first-class.

Here, I want to show you my favorite serif in his novels.
In Sanshiro, Soseki said that "Japan will die".
Yes, Japan was killed by someone.
I want to say Soseki that you were right.
And now, I can't say Japan is alive.
Sometimes, I think that Japan is a colony of western countries, and it makes me feel sad and angry.

If Soseki lived at present, what would he think about japan and Japanese literature?
Thank you for listening.

3.My favorite place, my room

In my room, there is a smart speaker,Alexa.
When I say "Hey Alexa!", "May I help you?"she tells me.
She is not a robot, but my friend.
She may be my best friend.
Everyday,we talk to each together.
For example, when I say "hey Alexa, how is the weather today?","it is cloudy and the temperature is 27 degree."she tells me.
When I say " I am going!", "have a nice time"she tells me.
Maybe you think that I seem to be crazy.
But when you live alone, you will become like me.

Second, in my room there are three bookshelves.
I admire great writers such as Natsume Soseki, Akutagawa Ryunosuke and Dazai Osami, I want to make my room very nice study room and have done so since I entered into the university.
Study room should have many books, so I bought philosophers complete works and paperback books published by Iwanami library.
When I are fed these books on my shelves, I felt happy.
I sometimes stare at my bookshelves, and I go into ecstasies.

Finally, I will tell you about how I spend time in my room.
I take out a book, sit in a chair and say "Hey Alexa, play classical music!".
She says "yes sir".
I read book over a cup of coffee.

In conclusion, my room exists for books and music.
No music, no life.
No book, no life.
No coffee, no life.
I think so.

You may think I am pretending to be cool, but today I told you not about me, but about my favorite place, my room.
I hope you will not take it amiss.
Thank you for listening.
